Happy Happy Joy Joy Pet Corporation began with a simple idea: rainy days shouldn’t stop pets from living joyfully. Our founder, Raymond Melkomian, noticed that traditional pet raincoats were expensive, uncomfortable, and often ended up damaged after just a few uses. Pets disliked wearing them, owners struggled with the hassle, and both ended up frustrated whenever the weather turned bad.
Determined to create something better, we set out to design a solution that was lightweight, comfortable, eco-friendly, and truly practical. The result was PAWNCHO™ — the first disposable, compostable, biodegradable raincoat and boot set made specifically for pets. Thin enough for pets to forget they’re even wearing it, yet durable enough to protect them from the elements, Pawncho was created to turn reluctant rainy-day walks into easy, happy moments.
As pet ownership continues to grow across the country, so does our mission. We believe that caring for pets means caring for the planet too. That’s why our products are designed not only for convenience, but also with sustainability in mind.
From a rainy-day inconvenience came a brand rooted in innovation, compassion, and joy. Today, Happy Happy Joy Joy Pet Corporation is proud to help pets step confidently into any weather — one Pawncho at a time. Pawncho. Making the world a little cleaner, one rainy walk at a time.
PAWNCHO™ was created to give pets fast, lightweight protection from the elements without the bulk, discomfort, or inconvenience of traditional pet rainwear. Many conventional options are heavy, restrictive, difficult to put on, and impractical for everyday use—especially when weather conditions change suddenly during walks.
We saw the need for a simple, disposable solution that pet owners could rely on when rain arrives unexpectedly. Instead of scrambling for gear—or cutting a walk short—owners needed a practical way to protect their pets quickly and confidently in real-life conditions.
PAWNCHO™ was designed to be easy to use, comfortable for pets, and practical for real-life situations, providing immediate protection for pets and peace of mind for their owners when the weather turns without warning.
PAWNCHO™ was designed to simplify pet rain protection for real-life use. Instead of bulky, fitted rainwear that can be uncomfortable for pets and inconvenient for owners, PAWNCHO™ focuses on quick protection, comfort, and ease of use.
Lightweight and disposable, PAWNCHO™ is intended to provide fast, practical coverage when rain or wet conditions arise— especially during everyday walks when weather changes unexpectedly. Its design prioritizes freedom of movement, allowing pets to walk naturally without feeling restricted.
By prioritizing simplicity and real-world convenience, PAWNCHO™ helps make rainy walks easier—without the hassle of traditional pet rainwear. Additional details regarding materials and compostability are covered in the following section.
PAWNCHO™ raincoats are manufactured using a plant-based compostable biopolymer film primarily composed of polylactic acid (PLA) derived from renewable resources such as corn starch, blended with other compostable polymers to provide flexibility, durability, and water resistance.
The material is designed to biodegrade under composting conditions into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass, without leaving persistent plastic residues.
Compostability claims are substantiated by independent third-party certifications, including certification by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) verifying compliance with ASTM D6400 standards for commercial composting, recognition by the Compost Manufacturing Alliance (CMA) for compatibility with real-world composting facilities, and TÜV Austria’s OK compost HOME certification confirming compostability in home composting environments.
These certifications demonstrate that the material meets recognized industry standards for compostability, as defined by applicable guidelines and standards. Compostability applies under appropriate composting conditions; availability of composting facilities varies by location, and consumers are encouraged to follow local disposal guidelines.
From the inception of the company, HHJJCO made a deliberate decision to donate fifty percent (50%) of proceeds from the sale of PAWNCHO™ products to humane animal shelters and rescue organizations that dedicate ninety-five percent (95%) or more of their resources to the care, housing, and feeding of displaced pets.
As the company grows, our intention is to further evaluate how donated funds are used, with the goal of better understanding what percentage of contributions directly support animal care. Looking ahead, HHJJCO aspires to establish a not-for-profit organization focused on evaluating shelter practices and actively rescuing pets at risk in high-kill shelters.
Our long-term goal is to help reduce—and ultimately eliminate—the unnecessary euthanasia of healthy, innocent animals by supporting responsible rescue efforts and promoting humane alternatives.

Throughout my career on the trading desks at Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, and Prudential Securities, I have always faced a non-negotiable deadline: being at my desk by 7:00 AM.
My three dogs, however, don't care about the market schedule. They refuse to go out in the rain or snow and hate the heavy, expensive traditional raincoats I bought for them.
"I need an efficient solution as fast as possible so that I can get the boys out for a walk on a rainy day without a hitch and ensure I get myself to work at the trading desk on time."
Leveraging my background as an economist and an inventor of complex trading platforms, I engineered a lightweight, disposable, and compostable raincoat that can be put on in seconds and torn off upon returning home.
PAWNCHO™ is just the beginning. I am currently applying this same rigorous analytical research to develop a full suite of innovative pet products, with several new patents pending.
Raymond M. Melkomian is a veteran economist and technologist with three decades of experience at the epicenter of global financial markets. An alumnus of NYU’s Courant Institute, his career is defined by the intersection of rigorous mathematical logic and complex engineering.
His professional journey includes leadership roles at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) and Paris Securities. A pioneer in market architecture, he developed a proprietary exchange for Water Futures and holds the patent on the industry's Open Outcry trading platform (U.S. Patent No. 5,950,176). This capability to build the very infrastructure of global commerce—coupled with a documented 937% portfolio return—has established him as a leading voice in quantitative market analysis.
During his tenure at the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC), Raymond was instrumental in modernizing the securities industry. Having seen the efficiency of the futures markets, he advocated for a radical reduction in settlement cycles. While he successfully led the transition from T+5 to T+3, he went further by proposing a move to T+1 settlement as early as 1994. Although it took the industry until 2024 to finally implement T+1, his vision established a blueprint for reducing systemic risk decades before it became the global standard.
As the Managing Director of Paris Securities, he maintained a rigorous suite of professional credentials, including the Series 3, 4, 7, 8, 23, 24, 27, 55, 63, and 65 licenses. This principal-level oversight allowed him to direct complex operations ranging from commodities trading and branch office management to fiduciary investment advisory services and financial compliance.
As the inventor of PAWNCHO™ and the primary architect of Happy Happy Joy Joy Pet Corporation, Raymond applies industrial-grade engineering to solve the daily challenges of pet ownership. Holding U.S. Patent No. 12,453,334 B1, he continues to innovate at the crossroads of protective materials and animal welfare.
Beyond his commercial ventures, Raymond is the author of The Trial of God at The Hague. In addition, he is working on a series of eleven novels, reflecting a multi-disciplinary approach to innovation, ethics, philosophy, and narrative.
